Posted By Anita Roddick Team on 2010-07-01 04:38:11
Topic : Environment

We urge you to watch a documentary called The Cove which is available to download from Brightwide for a mere £2.99. This is a very disturbing but brilliant account of the ill-treatment and the slaughter of dolphins in a small Japanese fishing village (Taiji).

Please watch this moving documentary and then join with us in taking action to stop the killing of dolphins in Japan. If we can spread the word around the world – and especially in Japan – we can expose the secret of Taiji and force the Japanese government to stop it.

A Green New Deal
Posted By Brooke Shelby Biggs on 2008-07-24 14:55:04
Topic : Environment

The Roddick Foundation gravitates towards creativity, but always in the service of practicality. It is in that spirit that we have supported the New Economics Foundation. This week, the NEF – along with leaders from Friends of the Earth, The Guardian (UK) and the UK Green Party – has launched a report calling for a "Green New Deal," marking the 75th anniversary of President Franklin Roosevelt's New Deal legislation. The NEF is calling for similarly visionary leadership in the UK to solve the triple threats of the credit crisis, rising oil prices, and climate change.
